WHAT’S NEW

at the SPEED SHOP

What’s new at the Speed Shop?  Well, ...the Speed Shop is! After 8 years in Savage, and before that 5 years in Shakopee, and before that, ...well, you get the picture.  On August 1, 2013 Lee officially opened his new shop at 8320 County Road 52, Carver Minnesota.  The new facility, 75% larger than the last one, is nestled among the trees overseeing Silver Creek.  Lady, the shop Airedale also made the move and is still anxious to greet you with a friendly bark and a growl.  And in case you forget, she is still willing to close the door behind you when you come in.

About two weeks before opening, and Lady was looking a little nervous about the new shop being finished in time!

The new location is a little off the beaten path compared to the former, but we think you will agree that it is worth the trip.  The shop is located on Carver County Road 52 just 1/3 mile west of Carver County Road 40.  Many of you will be familiar with County Road 40 since it’s hills and curves, which follow the Minnesota River from Carver to Belle Plaine, are a favorite of local riders.

From downtown Chaska take Chaska Blvd west and turn left on County 40 to go through the historic town of Carver.  Stay on 40 for total of about 8 miles.  When you  pass through East Union you are over half way here.  Take a right on County Road 52, follow it up over the top of the hill,  and most of the way down the other side; you will find us on the right.  If you come to County Road 41, make a U- Turn because you just missed our driveway!

If you choose to visit by way of State Hwy 169, turn north at the stoplight at the intersection of 169 and Quaker Avenue in Jordan.  Quaker will turn into Jonathan Carver Parkway when it crosses the Minnesota River, which will take you to Carver County Road 50.  A left on 50 brings you to East Union where it meets County Road 40.  Take a left at the stop sign in East Union after checking for the through traffic on 40 which often ignores the 35 MPH speed limit.  From there follow the directions above.  The trip from Jordan is about 9 miles.
